Crossroads Corner Consignment

We have our very own “permanent” booth now! We were given a great opportunity for our business and this is just what we needed. We have yet to find the perfect shop for us so this was great. We will have a booth at Crossroads Corner Consignment located in Champaign, IL, until the end of March 2017 and we couldn’t be more excited.

We get this small space in the hallway that you see as you are walking in to the store that we can fit one piece and hang a sign. This is neat because we can preview our stuff for customers before they even walk in the store!

We also get to use the whole brick wall behind the cash register to hang signs, which works perfect with my canvas signs that I hand draw. The red brick is the perfect accent for my white canvas’. I love getting to create my own signs and not always do custom signs, so this is great.

I love that we have a mixture of brick and plain walls. The owner of Crossroads is great to work with as well, I had a vision of putting these music sheets behind this dresser to add something extra in there and he was more than happy to allow me to do that! I love having a more permanent space that I can be creative with and change whenever I want.

I can’t wait to be more creative with this space over the next few months and show everyone our style and potential! Getting our name out to new customers is exactly what we need starting out. I can’t thank Crossroads enough for giving us this opportunity. Thank you for reading and if you are local, come check us out!

Finder’s Market

We had our first 2-day market! The Finder’s Market in Decatur, IL located at Progess City was lovely. It was their holiday market and we were more than excited to begin displaying christmas decorations! Friday afternoon we were all set up and ready for an evening of shopping! While this market was mainly focusing on christmas, we did have a small amount of fall left. And I can’t say I am looking forward to putting it all away…

I am however excited to bring out christmas decor and bring to life new ideas. Our first new christmas items are these adorable cinnamon stick christmas trees. Perfect for any shelf, crate, tabletop, mantle, etc to add christmas to your house!

I also love making signs and christmas is the persfect season to decorate up new ideas and creations. Canvas signs are my favorite, but chalkboard come in a close second. I love being able to see something I love and know that I can recreate it and add my own touch to it.

This is the first of our holiday markets and I cannot wait to show you more of our christmas decor as the months go on! Thank you to all who came out to Decatur to see us at the Finder’s Market. Be sure to check-in in the coming weeks as we have some exciting news coming soon!

Hello again!

Hello all! I want to introduce myself again! My name is Erin and I am part owner of this wonderful little dream my mother, Glynis, and I have made come true! I have always loved designing and decorating; my early years of high school I wanted to be an architect and attend Cornell University; I drew floor plans in my spare time and loved designing houses. My mother has always been creative with pictures, paint, paper, etc. taking over our basement to an entire craft room built just for her. She has always taken us to garage sales every year and recently got me hooked on auctions! I grew up out in the country in a farming family; we have barns galore! When I bought my first house on my own I realized I could get a lot of my decorations just by rummaging through our barns! My mother would push me to do/make any idea I had, which always led to another. She was always there to help me or give me more ideas. After getting many compliments on our décor and style, we decided why not open up a business and hopefully a shop one day! I could barely contain my excitement when we booked our first market, and it was more than what I had hoped for! We were off to a running start! The encouragement came pouring in; I had to book as many markets as we could manage! Unfortunately we have to do all this around both of our full-time jobs, which can be very time consuming, but I love it!

This dream we have is growing and I cannot wait to see what the following years have in store for us here at A Crafty Farm Shop! We have a few new and exciting things happening soon with Etsy and some online shopping, so be sure to check back to keep posted! I hope ya’ll enjoy our style as much as we do and come out to visit us – to the right we have posted our list of markets we will be attending each month. Our e-mail is if you have any questions, would like a custom order or even need a room/home decorated! We can help with it all!

It’s Wedding Season!!

Wedding season has arrived! I made a couple signs and helped decorate for a gorgeous wedding this weekend! I am lucky enough to call the bride my friend and was more than willing to help make her special day beautiful! I made a couple wooden signs; one to help assist guests as they arrived and one for the dessert table!

These wooden signs are becoming very popular. And they look great used in rustic/country weddings! The larger sign was put up against an old wheel barrel at the entrance to the wedding ceremony, of course I forgot to snap a picture of it! The reception was in a gorgeous white tent and was so cute and quaint. A popcorn bar was provided for appetizers as the guests waited for the bridal party to snap all of their pictures.

You were able to find your table by taking a look at either window located at the entrance; a great way to add the country feel of old windows in to the wedding decor.

On the gift table old vintage luggage pieces were used to hold the cards for the happy couple.

And of course we cannot forget the bar! Old wash buckets were used to hold the soft beverages and water bottles and the bar was decorated up as well!

Helping with this wedding has gotten me excited for the summer and all of the weddings coming up! Congratulations to all the happy couples to-be!! May your wedding day be just as special as this one was!
